Account Manager

Position Objective

At Brandish, the Account Manager (AM) collaborates on strategic direction for client initiatives, oversees day-to-day client initiatives, and nurtures client relationships. The AM works with every facet of Brandish in order to achieve client objectives. They are accountable for the quality of every activity within the agency associated with their book of clients.

The AM will receive guidance from the Director of Accounts but must be comfortable working directly with clients to develop and maintain strong relationships and ongoing work for the agency. The ideal candidate will successfully work with clients to determine their needs, set actionable objectives, and shepherd projects into and throughout the agency.

As an advocate for the client, the AM will work alongside each department (Strategy and Planning, Creative, and Projects) to ensure agency outputs are on-strategy and align with high level account objectives outlined at the beginning of each quarter. It’s the AM’s responsibility to kickoff the quarterly briefing process by creating comprehensive account plans that summarize all necessary strategic and brand considerations.

In addition to managing an existing base of clients, the AM will be encouraged and incentivized to create new relationships on behalf of the agency. Key Accountabilities:

Client Relationship

  • Act as the primary point of contact with all clients from relationship inception to completion.
  • Represent the client's needs and wants as they pertain to the ongoing projects.
  • Represent Brandish team and philosophy of work when discussing work with clients.

Account Management

  • Contribute to and advocate for strategy
  • Contribute to and advocate for creative
  • Align agency stakeholders with client objectives
  • Create and manage budgets per project to ensure profitability
  • Planning & Brief development

Account Planning

  • Research client business
  • Gain client insight
  • Develop client briefs
  • Work cross-discipline to facilitate agency briefs
  • Speak to progress throughout ongoing work
  • Organize quarterly planning for recurring clients

Book Growth

  • Manage and grow existing client budgets
  • Work with internal teams to propose new projects to existing clients
  • Develop a book of business to create new opportunities/clients for the agency

Agency Management

  • Work with projects team to facilitate timely project completion
  • Communicate necessary changes in timeline to client
  • Support teams across the agency in achieving client objectives
  • Facilitate client feedback on agency work
  • Quality assurance on all agency work going to client

Experience and Knowledge

  • 3-5 years of experience in Agency environment in a Client service role
  • Able to work with multiple cross-discipline teams
  • Have a strong understanding of agency processes
  • Maintain a record of building strong client relationships
  • Previous experience in automotive is an asset
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated fiscal management skills
  • Superior time management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to multi-task and set priorities in fast moving environment
  • Ability to maintain composure in high stress situations
